CPD for staff in SEND, EBD, AP and FE settings — classrooms, workshops, outdoor learning and Functional Skills
"We have learners in classrooms, workshops, outdoor and FS settings -We want CPD that equips your team for the reality of SEND and EBD work."
Everything SEND Workshop delivers is built from real experience in secondary SEND, specialist provision, FE and Alternative Provision — not borrowed from mainstream training.

Supporting learners day-to-day across classrooms, workshops, outdoors and FS sessions
Delivering Functional Skills maths, English and digital, vocational or practical subjects to SEND and EBD groups
Looking for consistent, evidence-based CPD to roll out across a whole staff team
Working in settings where traditional classroom approaches rarely apply — and generic CPD doesn't help
Most behaviour training assumes a table, a chair and a whiteboard. It doesn't account for a learner holding a chisel, standing next to a bandsaw, or refusing to come inside from the garden.
Functional Skills CPD almost never addresses the disengagement and avoidance that comes from years of failure in maths and English. Staff need strategies, not theory.
SEND training focuses on diagnosis — what the condition is. Staff need to know what to actually do when a learner dysregulates in a workshop, a classroom, or a FS session.
CPD is delivered once, forgotten quickly, and never designed with the TA, the FS tutor or the vocational teacher in mind. This is built for the people doing the hardest work.
Six self-paced modules covering practical and vocational approaches to SEND — across classrooms, Functional Skills sessions, workshops and outdoor settings.
The evidence and the reality — why practical activity supports regulation, engagement and progress where desk-based approaches fail.
Space, structure and safety across classrooms, workshops and outdoor settings — sensory considerations, routines and creating calm before a session starts.
De-escalation across all environments — when to intervene, when to hold back, and how to build consistency across your team.
Practical adjustments for dyslexia, ADHD, autism and SEMH — including Functional Skills contexts. Scaffolding without reducing challenge.
Observation, portfolio and photographic evidence — capturing progress that matters and linking it to Functional Skills, Entry Level and vocational qualifications.
Why maths, English and digital trigger fear and avoidance — and how to deliver FS in a way that works for learners who've been failed before.
Live, interactive training delivered at your setting. Grounded in Paul Dix and Susan Wallace — practical from the first minute.
Dix framework — the five pillars; self-audit; how adult behaviour shapes learner behaviour across all settings
Wallace framework — the four demotivators; classroom, FS and workshop scenarios; why FS triggers fear and what to do about it
Scripted interventions; role play across settings; designing routines; agreeing a shared team approach
Individual action plans; team commitments; one thing to do differently on Monday
Health & Safety in Practical SEND Settings — a standalone short course or bundle add-on for staff in workshops, outdoor and practical provision.
Why SEND learners need tailored risk assessment — triggers, unpredictable behaviour, and what duty of care means day to day
Workshop, outdoor and land-based setting checks — tool protocols, sensory hazards and routines that reduce risk before sessions start
What to do when something goes wrong — recording, post-incident review and when to escalate
